Travelling to the Paris end of Little Collins Street, you will find yourself in the presence of the beautiful Treasurette boutique. Couturing recently interviewed Treasurette co-owner, Deborah Wee, in celebration of Treasurette’s first birthday. Chic and stylish, Treasurette encompasses true Melbournian style with stunning European influence.
The evolution of Treasurette since its opening a year ago is attributed to the work of co-owners Deborah Wee and Alice Hu. Revealing that they are both “in love with shoes, bags and accessories”, it is this passion, accompanied by a high demand for European brands, that has led to the development and success of Treasurette.
The boutique offers a rare selection of brands and products of the highest quality, with “90% of the shoes, bags and scarves and sunglasses in store made in either France, Italy or Spain”. As Deborah explains, “we look for design and aesthetic that can’t readily be found in other stores, and attention to detail of those designers.”
The styles on offer ranges from edgy and fierce, to sweet and feminine. Treasurette caters for a wide array of tastes and always has a very carefully curated collection that keeps this in mind. As the store deals almost exclusively with European designers, it is equally on cycle with the styles in Europe. “Some brands [are] stocked exclusively in Treasurette [such as] FINSK, the Jason Wu shoe and accessories line and Aperlai Paris,” Deborah explains.
Other designers such as Repetto and House of Harlow, who also showcase their designs though Treasurette, offer items admired on the international stage. The Repetto ballet flats, the essence of style in cobalt blue, orange and leopard print patterns, are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the delights Treasurette has to offer.
In only a year Treasurette has cemented a fashionable reputation on the national stage. Developing into a store of modern sophistication whilst maintaining its edgy and feminine essence, Treasurette have taken on “new high street luxury brands such as Matthew Williamson and Givenchy, as well as artisan jewelry designers such as Maryam Keyhani and Fenton”. This expansion has landed them in Grazia and Style Magazine, which Deborah describes as a highlight for the store.
Because of this rising success, Treasurette has launched their website, www.treasurette.com.au, to account for the growing demand of their products. Online and in store, it is equally exciting to hear that House of Harlow jewelry and eyewear are also available—it seems that this store can do no wrong!
Since its launch in 2011, Treasurette’s success is a testament to the quality and style this store has to offer. With reviews always mentioning the bubbly and creative personalities of Deborah and Alice present in the store alonside the unimposing, friendly nature of the store itself, it is no wonder that Treasurette has had so much success in creating a “beautifully curated collection that is uniquely Melbournian”.
