Welcome to our little corner of the universe. Life with Lemons sheds light on everything from shower thoughts to global disasters. Speaking of, did everyone see that Trumps' health bill has collapsed? Bliss.

This season has seen trend after trend paraded down the runways, as designers such as Stella McCartney and Karen Walker created breathtaking looks with patterns such as paisley and polka dots. Taking inspiration from the masters of the runway, here is how to add these hot new trends to your wardrobe.

Recently spotted donning a beautiful polka dot gown was Emma Stone. This classic and simple style is perfect for the warmer months; elegant and effortless, a single polka dot item is enough to create an iconic outfit. To add diversity, try a bold lipstick or a coloured belt to complete the ensemble.

What Stella McCartney calls paisley; Paul Smith called tootal. Elegant and sophisticated, this brilliant pattern is perfect for those wanting a look unique to them. The key to pulling off the confident look is simplicity. Alexa Chung’s natural grey jacket and silver wedges compliment her paisley pants beautifully, whilst all that is needed for Eva Mendes’ look is plain black strappy heels.

Slide into a cooler, more relaxed look with light denim making its return for the summer. Practical and easy to wear, simple light-wash jeans can turn heads when thrown with anything from a patterned tee shirt to strappy heels and a coloured blazer. The only rule is to keep it modern, which you can do by incorporating texture to your outfits with vests, chambray shirts, or the elusive LDD (Little Denim Dress).

It is time to show some serious sass and bare your shoulders! This design is flattering and flirtatious, straight from the red carpet to the stores. This fierce style is at its best when the neck is left bare. Sorry ladies, no necklaces here. Setting the standard for a night out is Hayden Panettiere. Her cute peach off the shoulder top is simply gorgeous with faded black jeans.

To get a fun and flirty look for a night out, try the versatile Off Shoulder Detail top from ASOS tucked into a colourful patterned skirt, slide into a pair of black heels and you’re done!

The Sun Hat is one of the biggest trends for the summer and spring season, and we can see why. Chic and classy, these beautiful pieces complete your look whilst adding dimension to the outfit. Blake Lively dresses down her emerald green dress with a floppy natural sun hat, and by adding a neutral sun hat such as Broner’s “Calypso” Paper Braid Swinger to a flirty summer dress you can have her look too!

If you are feeling overwhelmed with peplum this season, you might want to try the Fluted hem. This ultra feminine flared hemline is a refreshing alternative to peplum, and designers Stella McCartney and Dolce and Gabbana use the style predominantly through their collections. This look is beautiful with a cinched waist and stops above the knee, as seen on the elegant Jennifer Connelly.

The romper is an asset to any fashion collaboration; flirty and fun, sophisticated and elegant, the look you achieve depends on the pattern, design and length. Look to playsuit queen Kourtney Kardashian for inspiration; the patterned romper looks gorgeous with the white blazer and basic heels. Keep in mind your personal style and body type when choosing a romper, and remember that footwear is a key factor.

Thinking summer? Think resort wear. Linen is back and is the perfect material for the warmer months. Beautiful and chic, this look works best when it is loose fitting and neutral. Katie Holmes wears linen palazzo pants with a loose fitting shirt, completing the look with roman sandals and a fedora hat.
