It is no secret that celebrities have a team of professionals on hand to ensure they look their best. It is also no secret that a person’s hair is accessory number one. Big beautiful luscious hair doesn’t need to be exclusive to the stars. We have searched numerous interviews and articles to find secret at-home remedies used by our four celebrity hair crushes.
Denise is famous for her bouncy, healthy locks. The models stint on Friends, featuring slow motion hair tosses that made her on-screen Cousin Ross incestuous, piqued the interest of women all around the world. As such, we want to know her secret.
Denise’s Hair Mask Recipe:
½ Cup of Coconut Milk
3 tbs of Olive Oil
Pit and peel the avocado, and proceed to mash it into mush. Then add the coconut milk and olive oil. To warm it up, either put it into the microwave or onto a stove top.
How to apply
Massage the mask into your hair from root to tip. Leave it in for thirty minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water, or better yet, cold water.
She also washes apple cider vinegar through her hair before she shampoo’s it, claiming it gives it volume and adds shine. This is also a favorite of Miranda Kerr's!
The nearly 40 year old brunette bombshell is a Hollywood icon. Beautiful and talented, this woman knows how to work the camera. She admits her rather unusual hair remedy includes a favoured Friday night beverage.
Catherine’s Conditioner Recipe:
¼ Cup of Flat Beer (leave some beer out on the counter overnight and it should go flat)
1 Tablespoon of Honey
Mix the ingredients in a container, and place the container in hot water. Continue to mix the ingredients together until the honey dissolves.
How to Apply
Use it as a conditioner. After you shampoo, rub the beer and honey into your hair, from roots to tips. Let it sit for ten minutes then rinse it out.
Australia’s golden girl, Miranda Kerr has modeled for an assemblage of brands to make anyone envious. As an outspoken advocate for a natural, organic lifestyle (remember the birth of her son? No pain killers!), we completely trust her hair care advice. As with everything else, she likes to keep things simple. Miranda loves coconut oil for revitalizing her hair, and, like Denise Richards, uses apple cider vinegar before shampoo and conditioning to maximize shine.
Warm the coconut oil by placing it in a bowl, and placing that bowl in a larger bowl of hot water. When the oil is completely melted, apply to clean hair from roots to tips. Work it into your hair by combing it. When you have thoroughly applied the oil, wrap your hair into a towel or shower cap. Leave it in for as long as possible, and then wash out.
Life With Lemons Tip: We love to leave this treatment in overnight. To avoid ruining your pillows, put your hair into a bun and place a towel over your pillow. Wash out in the morning.
We are thrilled to see hair care trends repeat! Blake, like Miranda, loves coconut oil. However, instead of using it as a mask, she adds some to her ends before shampooing. This tried-and-tested method has proven very successful. You simply warm the oil in your hands twenty minutes before showering; apply to the ends, then shampoo and condition as usual. Every person on the planet is envious of the Gossip Girl stars’ hair; this will get us one step closer to achieving it!
